This is the second fourth dimension I take ordered foam kits from Simply Speakers - the kickoff were for big Advents. I watched the video several times and proceeded. Other than being tiresome (I call back this is from having to wait to hear the speakers) with 9 cones per speaker, the task is as described. I of the extra surrounds was needed. 901 surrounds

I haven't done cream surrounds in about 20 years, back then the style to practise information technology was to remove the grit cap and shim the voice curlicue. Simply speakers 901 foam surround kit and online video was priceless and fabricated the job very easy!

Bose 901 restored

Man, I have had these speakers since 1987 and was almost to bring them to the curb when I saw this kit online. They sound similar new. I got teary listening to the sounds from these speakers. Time consuming job, only sooo worth it.

Adept product, ok instructions

I have completed the foam installation on my 901s and am pleased with the last results. It is a great product. Nonetheless, centering the voice whorl is a trivial trickier than the instructions imply. I wound up with three coils rubbing even though they seemed centered initially. I had to remove those three surrounds and re-install them. Instructions nearly how to remove them without dissentious them would exist helpful. (Information technology can exist done)

Q: Whats the numberfor the material suuround kits and do they noticably effect the audio?

A: The lifetime cloth surround kit for the Bose 901 is part # CLSK-4.5B. They are a bit stiffer than the foam surrounds, so you may want to increase the BASS setting on the Bose 901 active EQ.

Q: Hi, I've got Bose 151 ecology speakers, and two of the Twiddler speakers have gone bad. Seems like information technology'southward indeed the foam. I tin can't quite tell whether this is the right repair kit--seems the dimensions of mine are smaller (they're like 2" cones)--is information technology this kit, or a dissimilar one? Thanks!

Q: one) In that location's 'sealer' in the choice (= 'No Sealer', 'Liquid Sealer' ). Can y'all tell me what it is? two) 901's rear grill (=angle grill) is fixed by a glue. Does the kit include a gum for the rear grill?

A: Liquid Foam Guard is a castor on PVA sealer that protects foam surrounds from wet and mechanical breakup. Includes one oz. bottle and brush applicator. Goes on white, dries clear, and leaves a slight gloss stop. You can use the MI-3035 adhesive or silicon to re-attach the rear grill.

Q: What would you say the normal life of the foam choice would be? 10-15 yrs? I haven't opened my speakers all the same, since hanging from twenty' upwardly in the air. 35yrs old. What is the telltale sign they probably demand replacement? Fabric sounds like the like shooting fish in a barrel option, except it appears to affect audio... Practise the one" cone covers as well usually need replacing?

A: The foam lasts around 20 years. The cloth is a lifetime cloth, bit is a bit stiffer material, so some folks like to crash-land up the bass on the Bose EQ. You lot do not need to service the speakers unless you hear baloney. The grit caps do not need to be replaced unless they have been damaged, which is very unlikely.

Q: Do you have repair kits for Bose 901 series I?

A: The Bose 901 serial 1 uses a cloth (not foam) edge design. Therefore, the repair kit is not needed as the surrounds do non deteriorate. Our F-701 replacement driver will work for the Bose 901 if whatsoever of your original drivers take failed.
