With the Hearth and Home update away, Valheim developer Iron Gate Studios is now focusing on another upcoming addition to the cooperative Viking survival game. The Mistlands is the next biome that volition live added to the world—Valheim currently has five biomes, and this would be the ordinal of a aforethought nine in total—and there's been the slightest of teases today in the physical body of a single screenshot.

The Mistlands brawl exist in Valheim at the here and now, though very sparsely. If you explore deep enough into the humankind you Crataegus oxycantha find gnomish, pending Mistland zones, which are flighty, heavily webbed areas full of looming dead trees and skeletal remains. The vibration the Mistlands currently give? Here there equal giant spiders.

The new screenshot shows some gullible grass and wet rocks rather than the monolithic webs and dead trees we'Re used to seeing, and it's unmistakable the studio is still playing with few different ideas for the new biome. In the Valheim development blog, Iron Gate says "the landscape painting will prospective change quite a bit ahead we lick clean exactly what the Mistlands will look like." Sol, they're not even sure yet.

More newsworthy, to me at least, is a smaller update planned for the Mountains biome. I like exploring the snowy peaks of Valheim, specially after the gloomy, soggy monotony of mining iron altercate in the Swamp, but in that respect's aboveboard not all that much to find leading there besides wolves, ruined bits of castles, silver mines, and Valheim's fourth boss, Moder. Press Gate is looking some ways to spice the mountain ranges up, and two pieces of concept art evince that spiciness mightiness fare in the form of caverns, caves, or whatever other sort of underground areas.

Color me interested. Getting out of the snowstorm and away from those Drake pests sounds like ticket, especially if the caves are hiding something interesting, such as more Valheim lore and history. Since one image shows a statue or shrine in the cave, maybe we'll acquire to a greater extent about the world when we cash in one's chips spelunking under the mountains. These caves could as wel marry into the Cult of the Wolf down update planned, which is supposed to allow for players with a concentrate on "exploration and combat."

We don't know exactly when the Mistlands update or the Mountains update will go far. Hearth and Abode was delayed from its original comer escort, which has shuffled everything other on the roadmap further into the later. A Reddit AMA is planned (but not however scheduled) so maybe we'll detect out more soon.
